Math Art, History, Biography and Poster Show

Students preschool through college are invited to present posters or displays on topics about mathematics.

Suggested topics:

Biographies of famous or not-so-famous mathematicians.

Abacus, Accounting, Algebra, Algebra Tiles, Calculators, Calculus, Fibonacci numbers, Finger Math,  Flexagons, Fractals, Geometry, Geometric Constructions,  Golden Rectangle, Graphing, Graphing Calculators,  Hexaflexagons,  Math in other cultures, Mathematical Poetry, Origami, Pascal's Triangle, Patterns,  Pentominoes, Pi, Probability, Pythagoras and his Theorems, Puzzles, Quilting,  Quilt Patterns,  Statistics, Symmetry, Tessellations, Topology, Trigonometry

Deadlines
Please contact Ken Pinkerton at kbpinkerton@yahoo.com or call/text (707) 845-7465 to make arrangement to dropping off pieces for the the show.

Size:  Projects are limited to 36 inches wide x 30 inches deep and 72 inches tall.   

Presentations may not have items attached or display items.    We encourage photographs, illustrations or other images of items for your displays. 

Science Fair style displays are encouraged due to their proven strength, durability and low cost.

Returning Projects and Materials

Items can be picked up at Zane Middle School.

Items will be returned through the Humboldt County Office of Education Courier if the school provides a shipping envelope or boxes that meet HCOE standards.

Items not picked up or planned for by April 13 will be recycled.

  Important:: The Humboldt Math Festival and its volunteers are not responsible for lost or damaged pieces.

The Math Festival organizers reserve the right to limit the number of displayed pieces and/or chose not to display a submitted work or works.
